The extreme weather conditions battering the UK are impacting all transport modes, logistics facilities and port infrastructure.

While the major airports have largely maintained* operations, London Gateway, Felixstowe and Southampton ports have all suffered significant disruption and extended suspension of activity.

(*At the time of writing Heathrow and Gatwick are experiencing some disruption.)

Felixstowe has been closed since 22.00hrs on Monday evening. Other than a brief spell on Tuesday when some empty containers were returned, the port remains closed, which means no containers have left the port.

As you are doubtless aware the Met office is issuing further weather warnings ahead of storm ‘Emma’ which is threatening more snow and extreme weather into the weekend.

Whilst these developments are out of our control we apologise for the inevitable delays and headaches that the extreme weather is causing.

Road conditions are extremely challenging and, in many areas, simply dangerous.

Our operations teams are doing all they can during this difficult time and we would seek your understanding on any late arrivals.

We are monitoring developments closely and will do all we can to return service levels to normal at the earliest opportunity.
