We have been advised by our colleagues in China that heavy fog, which has shrouded the Shanghai and Yangtze River Delta area for the last two weeks is finally beginning to lift.

The loss of visibility for such an extended period has severely affected ocean freight carrier services and operations at both WaiGao Qiao & Yangshan terminals in Shanghai.

The Shanghai Maritime Safety Administration has advised that more than 1,550 barges and ships have been delayed along the Yangtze River channel and that ocean-going sailing schedules are affected.

Port operations at both Wai Gao Qiao and Yangshan terminals in Shanghai are gradually resuming.

However, the Shanghai Maritime Safety Administration has advised that it may take two to three weeks for operations to return to normal in Shanghai.

It is inevitable that there will be delays to shipments on the vessels affected.

We are working closely with terminal operators and shipping lines to try and expedite cargo departures.

Norman Global Logistics in Shanghai will monitor the situation and update you on any significant developments.
