Amid the US-China trade war, China has recorded 6.7 billion tons of cargo output in the first sixth month of the year, an increase of 4.5% compared to 2018.
The National Development and Reform Commission issued the latest report on cargo volume, showing continued growth in China ports.
During June, China ports handled 1.2 billion tonnes and achieved a steady growth of 6.7% compared to last year.
Container throughput reached 127 million TEUs during the first six months and maintained 5.1% of growth compared to last year. In June, the ports handled 22.3 million TEUs, a modest increase of 4.7%.
